OAS Junior Racers / Ellie Bartlett Ski Day

costume donning crew sit ski, snowboarder, ski instructor and volunteer pose on the slopes for junior racers daySaturday, February 2nd at Hoodoo Ski Area

In this event at Hoodoo, individuals under the age of 25 and U of O students who have a disability are eligible for a full day of snow-sports at no cost including the use of adaptive ski equipment, festivities and the very popular costume contest. Racers will have a blast skiing/boarding with our outstanding instructors and volunteers!

IN HONOR OF ELLIE: Ellie Bartlett was and forever will be an integral part of our community.  Ellie had such wonderful, exuberant energy.  Ellie was full of life and ready to take it by the horns!   Ellie was the instrumental student in heading up University of Oregon volunteers.  She worked hard to not only recruit more volunteers for our program and volunteer herself, but was also instrumental in working with the University’s access club to encourage students with disabilities to come out and ski.  We greatly miss her involvement with OAS and are heartbroken to think of the wonderful soul the world lost last year.

In honor of Ellie, OAS envisions a day spent basking in the mountain glory in an active, loving, inclusive community. Junior Racers day involves some of the things Ellie loved most – time outdoors filled with joy, enthusiasm, silliness and community. Come celebrate Ellie’s life with skiing/boarding, food, off-snow activities, costumes, etc.

U of O community members are encouraged to join and celebrate Ellie with us, email us for info on special deals for the day.

Our registration deadline is Sunday, January 27.  To register, head over to our registration page.
