OAS offers two-hour lessons for first-timers and those wishing to improve their skills on the beautiful Deschutes River right in Bend, OR.  Lessons are catered to meet the individual’s needs and goals.  Our lessons are available to participants ages 8 and up with a physical, cognitive or developmental disability.  Our kayak instructors consist of people who have received training in adaptive kayaking.  We also have instructors experienced at guiding blind and visually impaired participants, as well as Deaf and hard of hearing participants.


 

Lesson Times *2 hour formats (first time participants may run longer due to first time assessments)

Lessons can be between 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Lesson Rate

$60 for 2 hour lesson
• Includes setup, orientation and on-water lesson
• Kayak, PFD and paddle with adaptive equipment as needed
• One instructor and at least one volunteer

Scheduling in advance is required and important so we may accommodate everyone who would like to participate.  Please visit the “Register” page of our website for more information on booking your activity with OAS.

Season

OAS’s kayak season runs from  to late June to mid September, depending on conditions. Lessons are offered any day of the week but scheduling in advance is required.  No lessons available on 4th of July or Labor Day weekend.  Special arrangements are possible with prior notice.
