OAS’s Mountain Sense program is designed to accommodate individuals with visual impairments and includes hiking, cycling, kayaking, and cross country skiing.  The program is a great way to be active, lead an thriving life, explore and enjoy Central Oregon’s fantastic landscape on a regular basis.  


Led by OAS’ Nancy Stevens, the Mountain Sense program in a thrice monthly outing for individuals ages 8 and up with visual impairments.  There will be one or two hikes, increasing in difficulty each month, and one alternative activity such as kayaking or cycling. All outings are suitable for individuals of varying fitness and ability.  OAS provides all necessary adaptive equipment and trained sighted guides.



$15 per outing, transportation is included.

Mountain Sense outings meet at OAS Headquarters at 9:00 am.  OAS Staff will communicate return times at least one week prior to the scheduled activity so you can plan return transport accordingly.
