OAS’ SUMMER PROGRAM FOR PEOPLE WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS

Led by OAS’ Nancy Stevens, the Mountain Sense program is a twice monthly outing for individuals ages 8 and up with visual impairments.  There will be one hike, increasing in difficulty each month, and one alternative activity such as kayaking or cycling.  All outings are suitable for individuals of varying fitness and ability.  OAS provides all necessary adaptive equipment and trained sighted guides.


DATES & ACTIVITIES:

June 1st – Hiking at Shevlin Park

June 15th – Cycling in Sunriver

July 6th – Hiking at Todd Lake

July 20th – Kayaking on the Deschutes River (Dillon to Benham Falls)

August 3rd – Hiking Tumalo Mountain

August 24th – Kayaking at Hosmer Lake

September 7th – Hiking at Mt Bachelor

September 21st – TBD Closing Activity


COST:

$15 per outing, transportation is included.


TIMING:

Please meet at OAS Headquarters at 9:00am.  OAS Staff will communicate return times with you at least one week prior to the scheduled activity so you can plan return transport accordingly.
