Join us for a full day of climbing, hiking, and mountain biking out at Smith Rock State Park (Rope de Dope rock)! Community Days are days where the OAS community, participants, volunteers, family, and friends alike, can come together to celebrate and participate in outdoor recreation for people of all abilities. Note that this is not a lesson setting.
During the Community Day at Smith Rock we will bring our fleet of climbing gear, as well as a few of our adaptive mountain bikes and hiking chair for folks to try. OAS staff will be present as well as assigned volunteers who are ready to assist individuals as needed. You are encouraged to bring your own gear if you have it and recreate/socialize with everyone. Folks up for a bigger challenge can hike Misery Ridge or hike/bike down along the Canyon or River trails!
We will have a BBQ going from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. We will be grilling hamburgers, veggie burgers, hotdogs/brats, and veggie brats with associated fixings and some snacks!
You can show up anytime and stay for as long as you’d like. We will be set up and ready to go by 10:00am and will break down at 3:00pm. Accessible transportation is available, departing from the OAS Offices at 9:00am and returning at 4:00pm.
