Heroes Veterans Ski Weekend

Event Description
OAS is excited to be able to provide two full days of adaptive skiing for our Veterans and Active Duty service members with disabilities. Come enjoy the benefits of outdoor recreation and the thrill of downhill skiing in beautiful Bend, Oregon January 19-21, 2024.
OAS will provide two days of lift tickets, state of the art adaptive equipment (if needed), certified instruction, and trained volunteers. Accessible lodging will be provided both Friday and Saturday nights, and we will hold an informal reception on Saturday with food and beverages at the on-site food venue at the hotel. On-mountain lunch will be provided on the ski days of Saturday and Sunday. Participants are responsible for their own meals aside from lunches Saturday and Sunday and dinner Saturday night. There is a complimentary breakfast served at the hotel both mornings.
Location
Mt Bachelor in Bend, Oregon
Transportation
Participants will be responsible for all transportation to Bend, there will be transportation provided to and from the hotel and Mt Bachelor.
Eligibility
This year’s Heroes event will host a max capacity of eight Veterans. Based on grant funding, OAS is prioritizing participants of greatest need who face the most obstacles to accessing the mountains with preference to individuals who have never participated with OAS before. Please note interested participants must experience a qualifying disability as defined by our funding source. Qualifying disabilities include any disability requiring adaptive equipment and/or instruction (does not include mental health/illness as the sole diagnosis)
While family members are welcome, OAS does not provide their ticketing or lessons/experiences.
