Conditions & Operations
In the event of extreme weather, we will update this page to indicate any changes, delays, or cancellations to programming schedules. Please check your email as well for any communications and confirmations we need from you.
We strive to continue programming in all conditions but prioritize safety above all else.
OAS Air Quality Index (AQI) Program Guidelines
During wildfire smoke events, OAS will always prioritize the health and safety of our athletes, volunteers, and staff. Program modifications or cancellations will be determined with 24 hours of an activity based on the best information available at the time, and at the discretion of staff.
Use the EPA AirNow website or app EPA AirNow app or the free OregonAir app (Android | Apple) to determine the current AQI for your area.
-
AQI 50-100: No modifications to programs; AQI levels to be monitored at least hourly throughout the duration of the program.
-
AQI 100-150: Outdoor activities will continue but may be modified, including alternate locations, decreased intensity, and more frequent breaks. Drop-in community programs will typically remain available.
-
AQI 151 or higher: Outdoor activities will be suspended or cancelled. Opportunities to reschedule may be provided.
