Celebration of Life: Kellie Standish
Honoring a Tireless Champion
Kellie Standish helped shape the culture that defines Oregon Adaptive Sports. As an organizer, connector, and tireless champion, she infused this community with joy, momentum, and a deep sense of community that continues to guide us today.
Over the years, Kellie served OAS in nearly every way possible, as an instructor, as our Marketing Coordinator (wearing many hats along the way), and as a dedicated volunteer who always showed up with intention and heart. Her fingerprints are on programs, events, stories, and relationships across OAS. She didn’t just support this mission; she helped build it.
On June 11, 2026, Kellie’s life was tragically taken while cycling when she was struck by an allegedly drunk driver – a loss felt profoundly across our community. And yet, her spirit remains woven into the way we show up for one another.
Kellie coined our beloved mantra, “Best Day Ever!” – a phrase that became part of our shared language and a daily reminder of the optimism and possibility she brought into every space. That spirit continues to ripple through every experience, every gathering, and every moment of connection at OAS.
Celebrating Kellie’s Legacy
In the wake of this heartbreaking loss, gifts made in Kellie’s memory will be held with deep care until her family shares how these contributions can best celebrate her life and legacy. Each gift honors her in a way that feels true to who she was: caring, generous, and committed to helping others.
Thank you for helping carry forward the joy and culture she helped build.
