Thank you for joining us at the 6th Annual First Chair Gala
Celebrating Access. Creating Opportunity.
The first lift of the day carries skiers to a blank canvas of snow, ready for fresh tracks. Sought after by the most dedicated, powder-loving riders, this moment embodies the energy and spirit that OAS strives to reflect: a persistent pursuit of the transformative power of moving through the mountains. By supporting Oregon Adaptive Sports at the First Chair Gala, you ensure that everyone has access to these experiences—access to First Chair.
Thanks to you, the 6th Annual First Chair Gala was a remarkable celebration of that spirit. On Thursday, October 2, 2025, our community came together in an incredible show of generosity and support. Your involvement sustains the work we do at Oregon Adaptive Sports, ensuring that more people with disabilities have access to transformational outdoor experiences.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us, donated, or contributed in any way to make the evening possible. Together, we are breaking barriers, creating access, and sharing the joy of the mountains.
Our 6th Annual First Chair Gala was a sold-out show— and we are so grateful for the incredible outpouring of support. The celebration doesn’t end with the event. There are still powerful ways to stay connected and continue making an impact:
-
Make a Gift: Your generosity fuels access to life-changing outdoor experiences for people with disabilities.
-
Get Involved: Volunteer, partner, or spread the word to help break down barriers to the outdoors.
-
Stay Connected: Follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about upcoming events and opportunities.
Together, we are carrying the spirit of “First Chair” forward all year long.
Meet the OAS Athlete of the Night: Dennis Connors
We’re honored to announce Dennis Connors as this year’s Athlete of the Night at the First Chair Gala!
A veteran, Paralympian, and powerful storyteller, Dennis recently took the TEDxPortland stage to explore what perseverance really means—not just pushing harder, but embracing vulnerability, leaning on community, and learning to love yourself. From the podium in Paris to the trails with OAS, Dennis’s story is a moving reminder that true strength is found in connection.
His talk includes personal reflections on mental health and suicidal ideation, shared with care and courage. We’re grateful to Dennis for the honesty he brings to every part of his journey—and we’re proud to share a sneak peek of his message this October:
